Lebron Raymone James, also known as King James, is an American professional basketball player that plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Lebron has won 4 championships throughout his 18 years in the league and is looking for a fifth one with his duo Anthony Davis. Lebron is considered one of the best to ever do it and is compared to Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate.
For those who may not know what the GOAT debate is, it is the ongoing argument among basketball fans for which player is the Greatest Of All Time...
But back to our story. Sports fans have been known for doing crazy things like getting into courts or throwing trash to the players mid-game. Until last month, on January 6, a fan took his craziness to another level. This fan posted a picture of a pistol and tagged Lebron James. In the caption he wrote, “On Thursday, February 18th, I will be going to a Nets vs Lakers game. I will sneak this gun into the arena, and shoot Lebron James in the head during a timeout. You have been warned.”
Not so long after, the fan apologized for threatening Lebron and said it was just a joke. No doubt this fan is rooting for Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate and took his devotion a little too far. People should not joke with things like this since shootings have happened in the past and are nothing to be joking about.
There’s no doubt that security will be way more serious for this game on Feb. 18th, since people are known to post in social media before taking action. Hopefully, no harm will come to the King or to any other player, for that matter.
