Everyone knows that books are much better than their movie adaptations… Now is your chance to read the following books before they become films or TV series. All of these beloved novels are being brought to life on the big screen. One is full of music, love, and drama, another is an epic love story with a twist; you’ll find a summer love story and two dystopian novels that are sure to catch your eye with their plot twists and writing. I’m excited about all of them, and I hope you will be, too.


Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid: The novel is set in the late sixties and seventies. It follows the band Daisy Jones & The Six throughout their careers, lives, and romances in an interview-style narrative. This book will take your breath away with the writing, striking characters, band dynamic, plot twists, and romance. It is being adapted as a series for Amazon Prime, starring Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Riley Keough, Sebastian Chacon, and many more.






Legend by Marie Lu: This best-selling trilogy has sold over 3 million copies. It is set in a futuristic world where what was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. It follows June and Day, whose paths cross after June’s brother is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. The novel follows them as they uncover the murder, a shocking turn of events, their country's secrets, and their relationship. The book is being adapted by Lindsay Sturman for Bound Entertainment and Apple Tv. The cast is yet to be announced.





One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid: The beloved novel follows Emma Blair who marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse, who after an accident while on assignment is believed to be dead. Years later, she runs into an old friend, Sam. Sparks fly when they meet and Blair finds herself falling in love all over again; Sam brings her back to life, when suddenly Jesse suddenly returns. This novel is a heartbreaking tale about a woman who must make a choice between her husband, who she thought was dead, or her new love and fiancée. The movie will be directed by Andy Fickman and will star Simu Liu, Luke Bracey, and Phillipa Soo.




The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: This trilogy follows Belly and her escapades on her cousin's beach where she rests from her school life. Belly goes to the beach every summer with her mother's best friend and her sons, Conrad and Jeremiah. The novel follows the three in their summer and Belly as she figures out how she feels about each one of the brothers. This sweet, charismatic, whirlwind romance is being adapted by Amazon Prime as a series starring Minnie Mills, Gavin Casalengo, Lola Tong, and Christopher Briney.





Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard: The popular TikTok series are based on this novel. It follows Mare in a world divided by blood-red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. Mare Barrow finds herself working in the Silver Palace surrounded by the people she hates the most and discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. The Silvers, fearful of her, hide her in plain view. The novel follows Mare as she finds her power, tries to bring down a regime, and finds love. The series is being developed by Elizabeth Banks and Victoria Aveyard; the cast is yet to be announced.
