The Significance of Life

Updated: Apr 27, 2021

Life is a temporary opportunity, an experience, an adventure, one that ends up being a divergence between joy and sadness. But most of all, life is love, an opportunity to live with love, even during tragic experiences. As normal individuals, we tend to deal with ordinary obstacles and overlook the significance of our lives, the significance of this bewildering opportunity to be there for others which in fact, is our main purpose.

If you want to implement this in your life, you don't have to show your love for others by doing something extraordinary, but rather by doing those small acts of charity that signal kindness and compassion. At the end of the day, the accumulation of these little acts is what makes you special, and allows you to see life from a completely different perspective, one with an abundance of love and happiness.

“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love.” - Sophocles

In case you were wondering what is the “evidence” that supports this argument, I suggest you look around; look at those people that surround you, look at your family, your friends. Once you do that, you may think you are one of the most fortunate people in the world because others don't have these loved ones in their lives like you do. Just think about it: these people are not lonely anymore because they have you.

Let us not forget that the meaningfulness of life is measured by love.
