What will happen now that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away?

With great sorrow we can recognize the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth was the longest-reigning monarch, ruling for over 70 years, and now she will be missed by so many. The Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle on Sep 8, 2022. Her funeral took place on Monday, Sept 19 in Westminster Abbey. Later that day she was buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at St. George's Chapel, in the royal vault, next to her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip. The people of Great Britain waited hours in line to say goodbye to the Queen one last time. Some people stayed day and night to visit the Queen's lying-in-state. Anyone can still pay tribute to the queen by leaving a flower tribute, signing a book of condolences, or leaving your condolences online.

Major royal changes have also occurred after the death of the queen. Charles, the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, ascended to the throne as King Charles III. His coronation is set to be in a few months. Camila, King Charles’s wife, is now known as the Queen Consort. Prince William holds the name of Duke of Cornwall and he is next in line to the throne. With the new title, William gains the Duchy of Cornwall, a private domain created in 1,337 to give the heir to the crown and his family financial independence. The Duchess of Cornwall replaces Kate’s title, who was formerly the Duchess of Cambridge. William and Kate are the first pair to hold the titles Prince and Princess of Wales since Charles and the late Princess Diana divorced in 1996. Prince Harry, William’s younger brother and Meghan Markle keep their titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry is 5th in line of succession following his two children. It is said by a royal insider that Queen Elizabeth II made changes to her will before her passing. She supposedly left her $110 million jewelry collection to Kate Middelton and left “Nothing Of Value” to Meghan Markle. Camila, the queen consort, and Meghan are reportedly displeased by the choice taken by the Queen. It is believed by many that Camila was always jealous of Middelton's bond with the Queen and that’s a reason Camila resents Kate. Even though it has not been confirmed the inheritance of all the Queen’s jewels, it is mostly guaranteed that most of the jewels will be inherited by Kate.

William and Kate state they are unconcerned about the Queen's jewels since they knew their position with the Queen. They also claim they do not want to exclude Lilibet, Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s daughter out of the jewels so she will most likely inherit a part. When it comes to Meghan Markle, the Royal Insider claims it is not their concern. If rumors are true, and Meghan is cut out of the will, people believe the act was not hateful but practical. Others argue it’s a form of message form the queen, “ You reap what you sow." Since the queen's passing, a lot of "royal drama" has been unfolding, all of which has formed mostly from Prince William and Princess Kate and Prince Harry and wife, Meghan Markle. In conclusion, we can say with certainty that the Queen's passing was a significant occurrence for Great Britain and all of the countries she reigned in. We pay our respects to the Royal Family and beloved ones.
