Homeless

Joan Jiménez

Where am I sleeping today?

I have many places that I can choose

Maybe what I need is money

But at the same time I refuse.

I need to eat but I don’t know what

Do I go check trash cans or wait outside McDonald’s?

No more options, the doors have been shut

Can you spare some change?

But at the same time you refuse.

Sometimes I need some clothes

I don’t need Gucci or Louis Vuitton

A simple shirt and short last me a whole year

Can you spare some?

But at the same time you refuse.

Sometimes I need money but mostly I need love

I had both once

But did not I use them wisely

Such is life, that’s just how it is

But at the same time I refuse.
